Am I an entitled Christian?
We live in a society that tends to produce entitlement. We want it our way, we want it now, and if we can't have it, who can we blame because it's certainly not any responsibility of ours.
We want the part of God with all the blessings and favor and honor but we don't want the submitting, surrender and obedience. We want the chicken soup for the soul version of the Bible and not the part that challenges us to change how we always think the worst of others. We want all of our flesh and all of God.
He will never leave us or forsake us, His grace is sufficient for our weakness, but He is also a Holy God who ask us to trust Him beyond our understanding. A God that expects obedience from us because we trust His ways are better than ours.
"Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven! When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.” This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain. Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire." Hebrews 12:25-29 #walkingreflections
