7 Steps to Summer Beauty Rehab

5:27 PM

Alright yall, confession time.

I have fallen into the
Summer Beauty RUT
You know what I mean, where it is too hot
to wear your hair down,
you are going swimming any minute so why bother with make-up
(plus it will melt OFF)
etc etc etc.

I don't know why I just stop putting as much care into myself in the summer.
I think the heat just zaps all my energy

So I decided I need to give myself a pep-beauty-talk.

So while my son was taking his nap I put myself in beauty rehab and reminded myself of the great way it feels to beautify every now and then.

Here are my 7 Simple Steps to
Re-Energize Your Summer Beauty

1) Get a NEW razor and take your time shaving!
I always hurry in the shower, you know babies and all but sometimes you have to SLOW down, it makes a huge difference.
Nothing like baby smooth legs (and when you take more time and have a new razor you don't have to shave again as soon

2) Use an exfoliating mask to bring out your summer glow
(If you have never tried Arbonne's you should, it is amazing for actually making your skin glow and look like you have actually drank all that water you should have)

3) I LOVE getting pedicures
but recently I haven't had time to get a proper one. So today I took my time (once again, usually covering up and chips just to smudge them as I put my sandals on and head out the door) and even added a SECOND coat! ha ha

4) Pluck your eyebrows!
I always let mine go, promising myself I will get them waxed THIS weekend. I just end up looking like a man. It makes such a HUGE difference!
See my eyebrow plucking video HERE

5) Put on some light make-up
It is still summer, that sun kissed skin should hold it's own, but by just enhancing it a little and adding a little extra shimmer and shine makes a big difference for me.

6) Add a new accessory
or combine colors you have never tried before. I added this pink scarf with a new navy blue scooped shirt
(which are $8 at Target right now!)

7) Try an easy out of shower hair do
I can NOT be bothered with drying my hair for a half hour just for my sweat to re-wet and curl it. Sometimes I try and scrunch the little curl I had (which I tried here, but it wasn't taking) so I tried this look.

How to do style:
  • Split hair into 2 sections, the left section slightly more than the right
  • on your left side gather hair and twist it along the back of your head till you get to the right bottom side and then twist into bun and secure (I used hair elastic)
  • Twist the right side from top of head (including bangs/fringe if you have them) continue to twist around the first bun and secure.

I feel so much better and not so summer yucky!
What are some of your quick beauty tricks?
